Unmounted stamp storage and a masculine card

This is how I store my un-mounted rubber stamps. I found an old photo album, you know the kind, where you peeled back a clear sheet and put the picture underneath? I don't know if they still make them or not. As you can see the album pages are pretty yellowed from age! Anyway I stamped the images on a 8.5" x 11" sheet of cardstock and put the stamps on the opposite side. I used Aleene's Tack it Over and Over. Well after I bought 100+ unmounted stamps from Hampton Arts Stamps, a great deal for $15 on Ebay, the photo album didn't hold them. I wanted a large enough binder to hold a lot of stamps so I went looking for a 4" binder. I found that the price started at $14 and went up from there at the major office supply stores . Well being the cheapskate that I am I did a search and found them for $7.13 here. Much more in my price range! I ordered 3 because shipping for three was the same as shipping for one so I am all set for a long time to come. When I run out of photo album pages, or when I get tired of looking at the discolored pages I will replace them but they work for now.

I had some strips of the striped paper, Granola, from Basic Grey, left over from another card. The stamp is one of the unmounted stamps I bought from Hampton Arts stamped on another piece from the Granola pad with Timber Brown Staz On. The sentiment is from Stampin Up. I distressed the edges and sponged them.

More Storage

Well my camera really is dead! After changing the batteries 3 times it still would not turn on. I did some research and this is not uncommon apparently. To have it fixed would be $89 + $6.99 shipping so I decided to buy a new one even though the other one is only 2 years old!

This is how I store my nesties and colored pencils. I bought 5" x 7" magnetic sheets and glued two together back to back for stability. With this size they hold the larger size Nesties like the Curved Rectangles and I can put the regular plain Nesties on one side and the scalloped ones on the other.

I use the other basket for my pencils. Inside the basket I have acrylic boxes to keep the pencils sorted by color. The basket sits at the back of my desk out of the way when not in use but can be easily moved when needed.

My Studio

This is the first post to my blog so I guess that makes me a blogger! I thought I would start by showing you pictures of my studio. I wish that I had painted the walls before I installed everything but the walls aren't really as white as they look in the pictures. I can thank President George Bush for my studio as I used the stimulus money he gave us to buy all the storage items. Thanks Dubya!

This is my cutting and cuttling area. All my cardstock and cardstock scraps are n the file boxes. My embossing folders are in the baskets on the wall and my Nesties are on magnetic sheets in a basket on the right. The four small drawers on the left hold all my envelopes, 6x6 paper pads and mat packs. Below those drawers I have all my 12x12 DP in folders and above the drawers I have some of my larger mounted stamps in trays on the shelves.

This wall where I store my ribbon and mounted stamps. I made boxes for my ribbon and the shelves are shoe storage shelves. On the right is a paper sorter where I have my mounted stamps in acrylic trays.

My desk is in front of the windows. The drawers under the desk hold my ink pads, embossing powders, watercolor crayons, chalks etc. The stack of drawers on the right hold myDP scraps, punches and embelishments. To the right of the black drawers is junk! The acrylic trays I use to store my stamps are photo frames and these are the inserts that I took out. Although I have not found a use for them yet I am sure something will come to mind and if I throw them away that use will show itself immediately after the trash man comes! I have made a custom signature but somehow it got deleted as I did this post. I am sure I will get the hang of this blogging thing sometime but don't hold your breath!
