Did you think that I had run away and joined the Navy? LOL I think my Mojo did....he has been missing for a while now!

I made this card for the masculine card swap on Card Camp. The papers are from Basic Gray. I stamped the chess set with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and then added a shadow with pencil.

Quick and Simple

Finally I have finished the cards for the fundraiser and they are in the mail. Most I did not take pictures of but those that I did I am sharing today as my last post for January.

These were all made using scraps and Buckle dies from Memory Box. I made sets of 6 varying the color of the buckles and the strip behind the DP.

This is a card I made as a single card. I find it hard to make masculine cards especially for teens but I think this one hits the mark.

Simple, simple

I have a couple of quick and easy cards to share today.

 For this card I used a $1 stamp that I found at a Michael's I usually don't go to. I have discovered that not all the stores have the same $1 stamps! The papers are from a Basic Grey Archaic 6x6 stack.

When you colored the image and then don't have paper or card stock in the right color......go with black and white it goes with everything! LOL That is what happened here. I stamped the image from a clear set from Inkadinkado that I bought at the weekend on sale at Joann's. Once again....and I should have learned by now....I colored the image with pencils before I checked my paper stash! Another find at the weekend was this new to me MS punch which was on clearance.

Now I am going to clear off my desk which is disgusting. I love to make the mess but hate cleaning it up!

Masculine Thank You

At the request of my oldest daughter I have made two more thank you cards for men. I find it very difficult to do masculine cards. For one thing I have very few masculine stamps and my color preferences are definitely on the feminine side!


The papers on this card are from Basic Grey. I used the cuttlebug folder spots and dots on the solid paper and ran the blue strip through the paper crimper. The sentiment is from Stampin Up.


The paper on this card is from my stash, the leaf stamp is from a clear stamp set and the sentiment is from Stampin Up. The spots on the paper look pink but they are really two shades of beige.

Masculine thanks

My daughter requested a thank you card for a man. This is what I came up with. Not exactly inovative but I do have a hard time with masculine cards. The papers are from Basic Grey Granola and Boxer collections. Both of these have great papers for men. When I took the picture the little guy who is climbing out of my pencil basket seemed to be mocking me. "That is the best you could come up with?" Normally I would have cropped him out of the picture but to pay him back I am letting everyone know how cruel he is! LOL


I made this little guy from polymer clay many years ago. Somewhere along the line he lost the tips of his fingers on one hand. It made me sad but I couldn't throw him away. Now, seeing the smirk on his face he had better watch out!

Scrappy Saturday Encore

Okay, so I am new to this blogging thing. I tried last night to schedule the Scrappy Saturday post to publish this morning but it published right away so I have Scrappy Saturday posted on Friday! So in that case if that is how it want's to be then I will have a scrappy encore!

The original idea for this card came from here I just used squares instead of circles.

For this card I used punched circles but most of the 'doodling' I did with Borders and Corners {circles} stamps from Papertrey Ink I ran the background and some of the circles seperately through the Cuttlebug using the Spots and Dots folder.

This card reminds me of the New York skyline but I guess it could also look like candles. I just used scraps of mostly Basic Grey papers. I think this would make a great card for a man. *TIP It is difficult to cut strips a consistant width. I know I have either had the paper a little crooked or the measurement is just a little off and they don't match up exactly. To solve this problem I taped a piece of cardstock to the cutter along the measurement line that I want and then slide the paper in from the right and butt it up against the cardstock. You can also cut perfect squares this way at any size you desire. It is quicker than using a nestie and cheaper than a punch!


I removed the piece that holds the paper down so that you can see a little better what I am talking about.

Unmounted stamp storage and a masculine card

This is how I store my un-mounted rubber stamps. I found an old photo album, you know the kind, where you peeled back a clear sheet and put the picture underneath? I don't know if they still make them or not. As you can see the album pages are pretty yellowed from age! Anyway I stamped the images on a 8.5" x 11" sheet of cardstock and put the stamps on the opposite side. I used Aleene's Tack it Over and Over. Well after I bought 100+ unmounted stamps from Hampton Arts Stamps, a great deal for $15 on Ebay, the photo album didn't hold them. I wanted a large enough binder to hold a lot of stamps so I went looking for a 4" binder. I found that the price started at $14 and went up from there at the major office supply stores . Well being the cheapskate that I am I did a search and found them for $7.13 here. Much more in my price range! I ordered 3 because shipping for three was the same as shipping for one so I am all set for a long time to come. When I run out of photo album pages, or when I get tired of looking at the discolored pages I will replace them but they work for now.




I had some strips of the striped paper, Granola, from Basic Grey, left over from another card. The stamp is one of the unmounted stamps I bought from Hampton Arts stamped on another piece from the Granola pad with Timber Brown Staz On. The sentiment is from Stampin Up. I distressed the edges and sponged them.
