A touch of color

I have been playing around in Paint Shop Pro making digi stamps. This is the first one. The others didn't turn out to my satisfaction so I will be playing more! The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS and I used the Cuttlebug paisley folder for the panel. If you would like the digi stamp you can download it HERE

Figured it out!

No card today but I have figured out the correct measurements for the card I posted yesterday. I have written directions, for the cutting and folding only, in two sizes. 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" and 61/2" x 5". I just couldn't get it to work for a 5"x7" card and still use 8-1/2"x11" cardstock which is what I mostly have but figured 6-1/2" x 5" will still fit in a 5"x7" envelope. LOL

Experiment gone wrong

Somewhere I had seen a card fold similar to this and thought it would be something different from my usual. When I had finished the card I realized that I had the measurements all wrong! When closed the card was supposed to measure 5-1/2" x 4- 1/4" but it measures 4-1/4" square so back to the drawing board! When I get it figured out I will post the dimensions.


I used an Anje Style corner stencil from Marianne Designs for the side panels dry embossed and cut out by hand. On the narrow panels I used a Cuttlebug folder. The 3d sheet is from Nikky.

More Fall Flower Cards

I just found this post that I had saved as a draft and never published! It's a little late but here it is.
These are the other two cards I made with the digi images from the set from Fred, She Said.

The Mums are colored with pencils and OMS. For the background I cut green paper and adhered it to the orange and then ran it through the Cuttlebug using the Argyle folder.

There a a few different options in the digi set and for this card I printed the flower in the frame onto cardstock. I printed the pricking pattern on plain paper and then taped it over the image with temporary double stick tape matching the frame. I pricked the pattern and then with the pattern still attached I cut around the outer frame.

Fall Flowers

Today I have 2 cards to share with you. The images I used are digital stamps from Fred, She Said With the stamps also comes a pattern for paper piercing. I printed out all four of the flowers. These are the first two cards I made and I will share the other two tomorrow.


This is the Aster digi stamp. I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and OMS and cut it out and embossed the edge with an oval Nestability and the Cuttlebug. The aperture is cut and embossed with an oval Nestie 2 sizes bigger. The mat behind the aperture is a piece of Basic Grey from the Porcelain collection.


For the second card I used the sunflower image. The green CS went through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder and then I rubbed over the dots with a white ink pad. I used the Distressed Stripes folder on a piece of kraft CS and lightly went over it with a brown ink pad and distressed the edges with my fingernail. A very inexpensive distressing tool! Of course I don't have a fancy manicure either! LOL

I printed the image twice on CS and once on paper. I cut out the paper image to use as a mask. I used an oval nestie to cut one image and then used the mask I cut from paper to cover the image and used golden yellow and green chalks to color the background and then inked the edge with brown ink. I colored the images with Prismacolor pencils and OMS and then from the second image I cut out part of the flower, a part of the leaf on the left and the leaf in the front and attached them with dimensional tape.

Black and White Pansies

On one of the Yahoo groups I belong to, Crafty Card Creators, we played a game of Wheel Of Fortune. I was one of the first 3 players to get all the answers and our sweet list owner Rita sent me some 3 D sheets!

I made this card with one of the sheets. It is so much prettier in real life. The flowers came edged with silver! I used some black paper with a silver stripe to mount the image on and backed that with silver cardstock and mounted it all on a black card. I added some silver Stickles to the center of the flowers and a silver peel off sticker.

Primrose

This is the other card I made with my experimental piece of lattice that I did for the Silhouette. I am still struggling with getting the size I want and positioning it where I want. I really don't think the learning curve is as steep as I am making it!

The primrose image is from Dover. I printed it and colored it with Prismacolor pencils and OMS and then cut it out. I put the green mat through the Cuttlebug with the 'Diamonds In The Rough' folder. The sentiment is from Whippersnapper stamped on a tag from the Three Tag Trio from Spellbinders. As I didn't have any ribbon in the right color I used a strip of the same blue paper I used behind the lattice to attach the tag.
