Vellum coloring

I am still using the same stamp form the previous two posts. This time I colored on vellum card stock still using colored pencils. On both cards I colored on the front of the vellum. I stamped the image on white card stock with black ink and then traced the image onto the vellum with a white gel pen. I did try coloring on the back of the vellum but it was very pale and hardly showed on the right side. The vellum was probably too thick.

More experimenting

Again I have used the same stamp as before. This time instead of coloring on white cardstock I used colored cardstock. I stamped with Versamark which leaves a darker stamped image. Then I colored with white before using the colors. Do not color the whole image with white at once or you won't be able to see the outlines! Color one petal and then move on to the next one.

Experimenting

One of my favorite stamp companies is WPlus9 Design. I found a tutorial using one of the stamps from a set that I and just purchased. Watercolor and I do not get along but I did love the way Laura used the stamp so I used it to do some experimenting with pencil coloring. Over the next few posts I will be sharing my experiments with you.

For this experiment I stamped with gray ink on white card stock so that I could do the no-line coloring technique. These are colored in layers and blended with the pencils. I used Prismacolor pencils.

For the second experiment I again stamped with gray ink but this time I colored very lightly. The picture shows the color a lot darker than it actually is. In person it is much more pastel. The outline on both cards was done with pencil and blended out with OMS.

Purple poppies

Border dies are a great way of filling in space! in the last year while I was not blogging my style changed I think and I now prefer simpler cards. As usual the image is colored with pencils. This time I used Prismacolor pencils.

Border dies

i have had 3 sets of Spellbinders border dies for a long time and hadn't used them. These are some cards I made the other day using some of them. I used the same stamp from Hero Arts on all of them and colored them in different colors using pencils. The sentiment stamps are from different sets.

Coloring on kraft

I have been playing around with coloring on kraft paper using the no line technique. i stamped both of the images with Versamark ink and colored them both with Polychromos pencils.
