Purple poppies
Border dies are a great way of filling in space! in the last year while I was not blogging my style changed I think and I now prefer simpler cards. As usual the image is colored with pencils. This time I used Prismacolor pencils.

Border dies
i have had 3 sets of Spellbinders border dies for a long time and hadn't used them. These are some cards I made the other day using some of them. I used the same stamp from Hero Arts on all of them and colored them in different colors using pencils. The sentiment stamps are from different sets.

A Challenge
The challenge on my yahoo group this week is to make a card using 3 different dies and an embossing folder. This is the card I made for the challenge.
The three dies I used are Spellbinders long rectangles, circles and Fleur de Lis square. The embossing folder is Victoria by Cuttlebug. The flower was stamped with Versamark and embossed with gold embossing powder then colored with pencil. I edged all the panels with a gold gel pen.

Marianne Designs
I have finally gotten back after too long a break! Between my class and my daughter visiting I haven't had much time for making cards or blogging. A little late but these are the sample cards I made for the latest release from Dutch Paper Crafts. Marianne Designs LRO200-202
For this card I used the corner die, LRO200 I cut it 4 times and attached it with dimensional tape. To use this die in more than one corner you will need two or more of them as when you run it through the cutting machine, unless you can figure out when to stop on the second one you will flatten the embossing on the first one or you can put the card back in the die and hand emboss it.
I again used the corner die but just on one corner.
For this card I used the corner die again but cut the first one and cut it like an envelope flap and then added two more. For the border on the bottom of the card I used the die LRO201 as a stencil after cutting and embossing it.
This time I used the corner die again but on the fold of the card being sure to line up the cutting edge on the fold. I then used the 3rd die in the series LRO202 on the bottom of the card.
For this card I cut and embossed the die and backed it with solid color cardstock. I then used the die as a template to trace the shape of the edge of the die and cut the DP. This was attached to the base with tape around the two sides and bottom creating a pocket for the tag. The border punch as cut and attached at the bottom.

Heartfelt Creations Stamp and Dies
These are samples for the new stamps and dies that Dutch Paper Crafts has for sale this week.
For this card I stamped the image from HCPC3443 with Veramark ink, embossed it with gold embossing powder and colored it with pencils. I added an oval with the sentiment and a swirl die cut from Marianne Designs LR0116 which is also avalable from DPC.
For this card I used one of the Decorative Chateau Gate dies. For the background I used HCPC 3441 and for the door a stamp from HCPC3442. Behind the door is an image from HCPC3444.
A much different look for this card...more me! I used the window die to cut the negative space and one of the stamps from HCPC2448 for the flowers.
Another use for the window die. I cut two and joined them in the middle! The image is from the HCPC3446
A very masculine card this time using all the stamps from HCPC 3447 and the topiary from HCPC 3446! I used a kraft card base stamped with the woodgrain stamp. The window is stamped and cut so that it opens. Behind the window is the fireplace. I stamped, colored and cut the topiary and then stamped another flower pot which I cut out, curved and adhered with dimensional tape. The little sign in the pot say's 'gone fishin''

Quick and Simple
Finally I have finished the cards for the fundraiser and they are in the mail. Most I did not take pictures of but those that I did I am sharing today as my last post for January.
These were all made using scraps and Buckle dies from Memory Box. I made sets of 6 varying the color of the buckles and the strip behind the DP.
This is a card I made as a single card. I find it hard to make masculine cards especially for teens but I think this one hits the mark.

Scrappy Birthday
It has been a few days since I posted. I did make a sympathy card that I forgot to post but other than that I have been trying, once again, to re-organize my room. Why is it that you end up with a bigger mess than you started with. LOL.
This card came about as I was throwing away the scraps from the sympathy card. I has the two circles with the flowers cut out left from the card I made. As I was about to throw them away I looked at them again and decided I could use them. I put them back in the Spellbinders dies, a circle and a rose creations die and embossed them. I then cut and embossed three flowers from a scrap. To fix the flowers in the negative part of the circle I used tape on the back and then put the flowers in the space. The sentiment is stamped on a Spellbinders tag and the circles, tag and flower are attached with dimensional tape. The patterned paper on the sides are just narrow strips which is all I had left of that paper so it truly is a Scrappy Birthday card!

Stars but no stripes
As I have put my foot in my mouth and taken on the challenge of posting every day for the whole month I though I should get organized in what I am doing. A bit late half way through the month but better late than never! Starting today and for the next few days I am going to be making my cards with stuff I have and have never used and believe me there is plenty. ;-)
For this card I used an embossing folder from Crafts Too that I have never used before. I also used star dies that I think I have used maybe once and the word is cut with a die from Cuttlebug that I have also never used. I think the die probably was discontinued a long time ago! To get the white dots on the stars I used cardstock from DCWV that has a white core. After cutting the shapes I put them in a Swiss Dots embossing folder and then sanded the dots so that the white core showed through.

Challenge
The challenge this week at my Card Camp Yahoo Group is to make a card with three different shapes on it. This is my card for the challenge.
I cut and embossed a long rectangle, circle and lacy square from Spellbinders and a butterfly from a Martha Stewart punch and inked the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink. From the DP I used the next smallest circle die and a Parisian Accents die. A few half pearls and the card was done!

Cut it out
This card started out as an experiment. The flower die is from a Marianne Designs set Flowers and Leaves LR0156 that I hadn't used before. I also had a very old die from Cuttlebug that I had never used that they don't even make any more! I combined the two and came up with this card.
I first laid out the three flowers to see how they would line up and what size I would need to make the aperture. I needed the aperture to be 5.25" x 1.75" on a 4" x 6" card. If I did it again I would move the aperture up a bit but it is what it is at this point! LOL I glued the three flowers together before gluing them in the aperture and then glued on the die. To finish the card off I scored lines above and below the aperture and used blue crystals in the center of the flowers and tiny ones for the dots over the i's.

Chill Out in stitches
This is a card I made for a swap 'Dog Days Of Summer' on Card Camp. Here in Texas we are certainly in the dog days of summer with temperatures in the 100's every day.

The stamp is an older $1 stamp from Michaels. It is colored with Prismacolor pencils and Turpenoid and cut out with Nestabilities lacy squares.
This card is for the second swap I joined for August on Card Camp. For this card we had to have stitching on the card....real or faux.
The floral image I used for this card is a free digi image from Beccy. You can find it HERE I used a Nellie Snellen die MFD 033 and faux stitched with a blue Micron pen.

Birthday Card.
These are birthday card I made for Card Camp members who had birthdays this month.
I used Spellbinders Labels 14 and 18 and one of the Spellbinders Fancy Tags 3 dies cut and embossed with the Cuttlebug and edged with a gold leaf pen. For the flower I used Marianne Designs Flower Set LR0145
and for the leaves Flowers and Leaves LR0156.
I CASEd Cathleen's card, ctorina on Splitcoast Stampers, but I changed up the labels and DP. I cut a rectangle and rounded the edges then used Spellbinders Labels 4 and 14 all edges with a gold leaf pen. The flower is made with Marianne Designs LR0145, the leaves from the LR0156 set and the flourish is from the Decorative Elegance set LR 0157.

Joy
Another digi from Sugar Nellie that I just love is Joy.
I used Spellbinders Labels 14 in two different sizes for the image panel and the sentiment. To get the borders I traced around the outside of the dies and cut them out with scissors. For the edge on the white panel I used MS Punch Around the Page edge punch Vintage Floral. The sentiment is from the Forever Friends cling set from JustRite .

Connie
This is another card with a digi from Sugar Nellie. Her name is Connie.
I used just the corner punch from a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page set Swirling Lace to punch the corners on two layers. After coloring Connie with Prismacolor pencils and Turpenoid I cut her out. I used a long oval and a large scallop oval Nestie and a Spellbinders tag from the Fancy Tags set. Connie's feet are glued to the tag and then I used dimensional tape to attach her and the tag to the ovals. The sentiment is a $1 stamp from Michaels.

Parisian Accents and Pearls
Wow I didn't realize how long it has been since I posted! I have cards made just not photographed and shared.
This card was made with the Spellbinders Shapeabilities Parisian Accents dies and Nestabilities Labels 13. The DP is from a 6"x6" pad from Prima called Fairy Flora. It really does have some pretty papers in it.

Pretty Sweet Peas
My sweet peas stamp was still out on my table....I am bad about cleaning and putting stamps back...I wait until I have a few and clean them all at once. As the stamp was already out I decided to use it again.
I used Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page Deco Flowers for the border.... I have also seen it called Vintage Flowers. After stamping the sweet peas I used a Spellbinders labels 14 to cut it out and then used a smaller label with a Spellbinders Shapeabilities Parisian Accents behind it. A piece of satin ribbon and half pearls finished it off.

Bella Rose
These are some cards that I did for Dutch Paper Crafts that I haven't been able to show you until now. The stamps are from the Bella Rose collection by Heartfelt Creations.
I stamped the image and then stamped the large rose and colored them and then cut the rose out with the matching die and raised it with dimensional tape.
This is another stamp in the collection that also has a co-ordinating die. I stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with gold embossing powder before using the die to cut out the image. To see more about these stamps and die and to purchase at a great price go HERE

This is another of the stamps I had to work with. After stamping and coloring the image I cut it out by hand. The sentiment is hung from the trellis with a piece of twine.
I love this image! It is one of the images from the Bella Rose Pre-cut set that co-ordinates with the Dies.

Flip and Mirror
I called this card flip and mirror because that is what I did with the positive parts of the die. The DP I used is from a 6"x6" pad from Prisma called Fairy Flora. I love this paper! The die I used is from Marianne Designs Creatables Frames and Swirls LR0116. The die I used under the butterfly is the Spellbinders Shapabilities Fleur De Lis. The butterfly is a Hero Arts stamp colored with Prismacolor pencils and coverd with glitter.
