Last card of 2009

This is the last card I will be posting this year! It is a large card....for me anyway. It is 6"X 6".
I used an Anja Style corner 4 stencil to do the embossing using a light box. The cutouts were done with a swivel knife and then I used scrapbook paper behind the cutouts. This was mounted on blue cardstock and then on a white card base. The 3D flowers are from a sheet I purchased.

I have enjoyed sharing my cards with you this year and I look forward to sharing more in 2010. I wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year!

White Roses

I had embossed and cut out this shape a long time ago and didn't know what to do with it so it went in the box with all the other stuff I have colored, cut out or whatever and then never used. I also found this 3d element so I decided to mess around and see if I could come up with a card using the two pieces.

On the wrong side of green scrapbook paper from my scrap drawer I traced around the embossing stencil that I had used and cut it out. I adhered the green paper to the blue card base and attached the embossed piece using dimensional tape. The 3d element was then adhered with dimensional tape and I used a silver peel off sticker. Not sure that I am thrilled with it but I have two less pieces in my box!

Back to creating!

I hope everyone had a good holiday and that Santa was good to you!
I did do a little creating right before the holidays, just playing around really. Here are the results.

I usually don't do Valentines day cards but I love this stamp from Stampin Up!

This is a card I made for a swap. The stamp is from a clear set I bought at Michael's a while ago.

I usually don't do ATC's but I found this pattern for a parchment craft (also known as Pergomano) ATC and had to try it. After doing the embossing on vellum I cut it out and mounted it on black cardstock.

My other experiment with vellum was to trace a stained glass pattern with gold ink and then color on the back side with colored pencils. It was long and narrow so I decided to make a bookmark with it. I mounted the vellum on white cardstock and then cut an aperture in pink cardstock. I didn't have a tassel to add to it but I will either find one or make one at a later time!

I will be back after Christmas with more cards and look forward to another year of crafting and blogging.

For a friend

It is so nice to have finished making Holiday cards and have time to make a card for a friend...just because. I used a Marianne Designs Lacy stencil. The 3d pansies are from a sheet by Nikki. The card is winging it's way to someone who reads my blog!

Pretty In Pink

This is another card made with the digi pics from Fred She Said. For this card I colored everything but the rose and cut it out and embossed it with an oval Nestie. Using a second image I colored just the rose....I hope to look like a Peace rose.... and cut it out and mounted it with dimensional tape. For this card to fit in the envelope the card base has to be cut so that the overall height when the oval is mounted fits the envelope.

Singing in the rain

I don't know many children to make cards for but I just loved this picture of Paddington Bear that I found online and had to make a card using it.

I reduced and printed the image and colored Paddington with colored pencils and OMS. You can find great images for cards by doing a search for coloring pages.
