This is the last card I will be posting this year! It is a large card....for me anyway. It is 6"X 6".
I used an Anja Style corner 4 stencil to do the embossing using a light box. The cutouts were done with a swivel knife and then I used scrapbook paper behind the cutouts. This was mounted on blue cardstock and then on a white card base. The 3D flowers are from a sheet I purchased.
I have enjoyed sharing my cards with you this year and I look forward to sharing more in 2010. I wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year!

White Roses
I had embossed and cut out this shape a long time ago and didn't know what to do with it so it went in the box with all the other stuff I have colored, cut out or whatever and then never used. I also found this 3d element so I decided to mess around and see if I could come up with a card using the two pieces.
On the wrong side of green scrapbook paper from my scrap drawer I traced around the embossing stencil that I had used and cut it out. I adhered the green paper to the blue card base and attached the embossed piece using dimensional tape. The 3d element was then adhered with dimensional tape and I used a silver peel off sticker. Not sure that I am thrilled with it but I have two less pieces in my box!

Back to creating!
I hope everyone had a good holiday and that Santa was good to you!
I did do a little creating right before the holidays, just playing around really. Here are the results.
I usually don't do Valentines day cards but I love this stamp from Stampin Up!
This is a card I made for a swap. The stamp is from a clear set I bought at Michael's a while ago.
I usually don't do ATC's but I found this pattern for a parchment craft (also known as Pergomano) ATC and had to try it. After doing the embossing on vellum I cut it out and mounted it on black cardstock.
My other experiment with vellum was to trace a stained glass pattern with gold ink and then color on the back side with colored pencils. It was long and narrow so I decided to make a bookmark with it. I mounted the vellum on white cardstock and then cut an aperture in pink cardstock. I didn't have a tassel to add to it but I will either find one or make one at a later time!

Pretty In Pink
This is another card made with the digi pics from Fred She Said. For this card I colored everything but the rose and cut it out and embossed it with an oval Nestie. Using a second image I colored just the rose....I hope to look like a Peace rose.... and cut it out and mounted it with dimensional tape. For this card to fit in the envelope the card base has to be cut so that the overall height when the oval is mounted fits the envelope.

Singing in the rain
I don't know many children to make cards for but I just loved this picture of Paddington Bear that I found online and had to make a card using it.
I reduced and printed the image and colored Paddington with colored pencils and OMS. You can find great images for cards by doing a search for coloring pages.

Cherish .... Live .... Dream
I was going through my digi pictures from Dover Publications to see what I had and came up with an idea to use this corner Clematis.
I printed the Clematis and colored them with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. Then using the 'out of the box' technique I used a ruler and craft knife to cut the straight lines and then cut around the flowers with scissors. The sentiment from Stampendous was stamped with purple pigment ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. I used a green mat behind the stamped panel and adhered them to a purple card base. This may or may not be for a swap...haven't made up my mind yet!

One image two ways
I thought I had finished with holiday cards until I saw this digi image from Fred She Said and I just had to have it! Although it is a 'Christmas' image I thought it could also be used for general cards.
This is the Christmas card I made with one of the images in the set. There are different images as well as a set of sentiments.
I colored the roses a different color and used a peel-off sticker for the sentiment on this birthday card. Now I am off to make some more cards with the images I downloaded.

For Unto Us..........
This card features yet another $1 stamp from Michael's that I bought last year.
This stamp has nothing much to color except the star so it really posed a problem for me. I started by stamping in the middle of a white panel and coloring the star with a gold metallic gel pen. Then I didn't know where to go from there! After staring at it for a while I decided on dry embossing. I cut the openings with a swivel knife, backed them with gold metallic paper and added flat backed pearls and mounted the panel on a white card base.

Merry Christmas
I am continuing to use stamps I bought last year but never used. This stamp really stumped me last year!
For this card I cut a white panel 4-3/4" x 5-1/2" and used a Martha Stewart border punch on the long sides which made the panel 4-1/4" x 5-1/2". I used my Scor-Pal to score between the borders. I stamped the image with Versamark ink and used fine detail gold embossing powder and scored a line above and below the image.. The ornament is colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS.
This card is similar to the first but for this one I cut the card base so that the opening is at the top. The white panel is cut 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" and I used a different Martha Stewart border punch on one short side. I trimmed the edges to make the scallops even and then used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder above the border and scored a line between the two. I also scored a line above and below the image which was stamped and finished the same way as the first card.

Holly Jolly Christmas
I have a few Christmas stamps that I bought last year but didn't know what to do with them so I did nothing! This year, instead of buying more stamps I was determined to use the ones I didn't use last year. The stamp I used on these two cards is a little $1 stamp from Michael's. I decided to use it for two cards with two different colorways, one traditional and one non traditional.

Cuttlebug Christmas
HSN has some Christmas Cuttlebug folders that are exclusive to them. When I heard about them I couldn't resist buying them! You can find them HERE I used the same folder for both of the cards making them simple and quick.
After embossing the panel for this card I used Versamark ink to stamp the sentiment directly onto the panel and stamped a snowflake onto a scrap. I embossed both with silver detail embossing powder. I cut out the snowflake and attached it with dimensional tape and the card was done!
For the second card I stamped the sentiment and then cut a couple of trees from a scrap, used the Swiss Dots folder and attached them with dimensional tape.

CCC Weekly Challenge
Over on craftycardcreators we have a weekly challenge. This is the card I made for this week's challenge which was to make a card with a tag or in the shape of a tag. A little late I know but I forgot to post it on Monday! The holiday really messed me up!
I used a green panel that I ran through the Cuttlebug using the Textile Textures folder and then used a white ink pad and rubbed it over the embossing. For the tag I used a Marianne Designs Luxe Labels stencil that I embossed using a stylus and light box. I cut out the spaces with a swivel knife and cut around the outside with scissors.
The flowers are from a 3D sheet but I don't remember where I got it. I mounted the tag with dimensional tape.

More Dear Deers
I made another couple of cards using the deer stamp I got at Hobby Lobby.
This one is for a friend who loves country. I used some scraps to make a quilt design, used a black pen to do some fake stitches around each square and ran it through the Cuttlebug with the D'Vine Swirls folder. I also did some fake stitches around the image panel.
This one is similar to the first deer card. I just used a different background paper and this one is for a 12 year old boy. I find it so hard to make cards for boys and men!
This is another card I made to send to a man. I stamped the holly branch and the sentiment and then used a ruler and craft knife to cut the rectangle leaving some of the holly branch outside the rectangle. I cut around the overhanging holly branch with scissors and then mounted this panel on a black panel.
More of the Christmas cards I have been making tomorrow!
