Tropical Floral Side Step

This is the last sample card I made using the Heartfelt Creations stamp sets that coordinate with the Spellbinders Rose Creations dies.

Again I used HCPC 3409 Tropical Floral Swirls and the single flowers from the Botanical Floral 2 set. I love these stamp sets! The flowers were stamped, colored and cut out and adheresd to the side step card. The sentiment is a $1 stamp I bought at Michaels at least 2 years ago but it is one of my favorites.

This is the last card for this month. I made it! I had a contest going with my friend Gloria of Gingerbread and Pansies to post every day for the whole month. There were times when I didn't think I would make it. Thanks for the challenge Gloria it was fun but a lot of work!

Black and White

Another Heartfelt Creations stamp. HCPC 3409 Tropical Floral Swirls.

I stamped the image on black cardstock with Versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder. I then used the individual flowers from the Botanical Floral 2 HCPC 3407 to stamp and cut out three extra flowers that are attached with dimensionals. The border is a Martha Stewart punch Swirling Lace. A few red gems finish it off.

Heartfelt Rose

For this card I used Heartfelt Creations HCPC 3406 Botanical Floral that coordinates with Spellbinders Rose Creations dies. The stamp set is available at Dutch Paper Crafts.

I stamped the three largest flowers on pink paper with a darker pink ink and then made the flower. The medallion is from Spellbinders Parisian Motifs set and the flourishes are from Marianne Designs.

Leaf Medley

This is the second sample card I made using another stamp from the Heartfelt Creations HCPC 3405 Leaf Medley set.

I drew a circle lightly with a pencil and then stamped the wreath erasing the pencil mark when the ink was dry. A few red gems and a bow finished the wreath off.

Samples

This is a card I made as a sample for Dutch Paper Crafts using Heartfelt stamps and Spellbinder Rose Creations dies. I will be sharing the rest of the cards over the next few days. You can go to Darlene's blog to order the stamps now.

This card uses Heartfelt Creations HCPC 3405, Leaf Medley. The aperture is cut with Spellbinders labels 18 and backed with vellum with a sentiment from Stampin up.. I stamped the leaf image twice, colored them and cut them out. The flower is made with the Spellbinders Rose Creations die.  I put a piece of DP and a piece of vellum together and punched the butterfly with a Martha Stewart punch.

More Tealights

As I bought 50 of the tealights I have been going to town! My biggest problem is that I don't have many solid stamps. I tend to buy outline stamps that I can color. I did find this solid flower stamp from Stampin Up in my stash and as I don't have many colored ink pads I used markers to color on the stamp. Very time consuming when you are using different colors!

While mulling over the fact that I don't have solid stamps I came up with another idea. Use printed tissue paper. I usually buy pretty tissue paper at Christmas time. When I went into my Christmas wrapping box I didn't have one single sheet! I know it will work so the next time I am at the Dollar Tree that is what I will be looking for!

Let It Snow!

Here in South Texas we will take any kind of wet stuff be it rain, sleet, hail or snow!

I made this card using a clear stamp set I bought last year but never used.  The DP is punched with a Martha Stewart snowflake edge punch. The image is colored with pencils and the sentiment is from a clear $1 stamp set.

Tea Lights

I found the directions for making this box and candles HERE and had to try it.

I did find however that the tealights, found at Walmart for $2.25 for 50, did not fit in the box so I had to make a slight adjustment to the length.
For the box cut a piece of cardstock  3-3/4" x 8 -3/8"  On all four sides score at 1/2" and 1-1/8". I found it easier to turn my cardstock and score the sides this way than adjusting for my new measurements.
For the lid cut the cardstock 5" x 6-1/8". The adjustment is only 1/8" to the length but the tea lights fit!

Thoughts of you

I think this card would qualify as a CAS (clean and simple) card. I used a Heartfelt Creations stamp Botanical Floral 1. I stamped the flower with Versamark ink onto watercolor paper and embossed it using  white embossing powder. I then used markers to color the image and cut it out using scissors. The stamp coordinates with the Spellbinders Shapeabilities Rose Creations die set but I prefer to cut with scissors as the dies never seem to line up properly. The Rose Creations dies are great for making flowers though
I used a smaller stamp in the set with Versamark ink to stamp a background on the card base. A Martha Stewart punch on a white panel, a $1 stamp and some pearls added to the center of the flower finished it off.

Birthday cupcakes

Yesterday was my daughter's birthday...the one who bought the punch. This is the card I made for her. She isn't into all the flowery cards I make! She should have received it by now so it is safe to post it.

Thanks

Today I used two items that I have never used before to create my card.

The edge punch I used is from Martha Stewart. My daughter bought it for me a long time ago when she found it on clearance. The other thing I used was the digi image I found on the net somewhere and printed but never colored. I really thought that I would never use the punch but I quite like it used in this way.

Best Wishes

Day two of never been used before stuff! For this card I used another embossing folder that had never been used....and there are more!

This folder is a Quickcutz embossing folder. Behind the DP is also embossed but it left a lot of white space...even for me who loves white space! I cut a piece of DP slightly smaller than the embossed rectangle and then used a couple of Nestabilities to cut the ovals. The sentiment is from Stampin Up.

Stars but no stripes

As I have put my foot in my mouth and taken on the challenge of posting every day for the whole month I though I should get organized in what I am doing. A bit late half way through the month but better late than never!  Starting today and for the next few days I am going to be making my cards with stuff I have and have never used and believe me there is plenty. ;-)

For this card I used an embossing folder from Crafts Too that I have never used before. I also used star dies that I think I have used maybe once and the word is cut with a die from Cuttlebug that I have also never used. I think the die probably was discontinued a long time ago! To get the white dots on the stars I used cardstock from DCWV that has a white core. After cutting the shapes I put them in a Swiss Dots embossing folder and then sanded the dots so that the white core showed through.

Gracias

Continuing with Spellbinders this card uses the Fleur De Lis squares.

I cut and embossed two of the largest squares and one of the next smallest. To join the two large squares together I cut a piece of cardstock 3.25" x 7.50" and scored at 3.25", 3.75" and  4.25". The squares will fit exactly in the center of the outside squares with a valley fold in between and allows the card to open..

The stamp I used is an old $1 stamp that I colored with pencils. Three pearls colored with a Copic marker completes the card.

Don't throw away the bits!

This is the third card in the series using Spellbinder dies.

First I stamped the image which is an old  $1 stamp from Michaels and then cut it out and embossed it with a Fancy Tags die. For the frame I used 2 sizes of Labels 14 and glued the tag to the frame. I used the bits from the negative spaces in the tag to decorate the frame. The DP was cut with the largest size label I used for the frame and adhered to the center of the embossed panel. The frame/tag combo was then attached with dimensional tape.

Thank you pendant

Here is the second card using Pendant and Label dies from Spellbinders.

I used two sizes of Labels 18 to cut and emboss the frame. The image was stamped and I used a Fleur De Lis Accent die to cut and emboss around the image. I cut another FDL accent and cut it in half. These halves were then adhered to each side of the frame leaving a gap in the middle. The second pendant was attached with dimensional tape to hide the gap and then the whole pieces was attached to the card with dimensional tape. I stamped and colored another image and cut out the flower and attached it with tape also.

Birthday in black & white

I have been playing around with some of my Spellbinder dies. For the next few days I will be showing you what I came up with.

For this card I used a Fleur De Lis Pendant die from Spellbinders. After cutting and embossing the die I found a Nestabilities square that fit the die and cut a square from the center of the panel and then used a Martha Stewart Punch around the page punch set. The border still looked very bare so I cut 4 of the small dies in the Pendant set and adhered them to the corners.
It still needed something else but the only stamp I had that would fit was part of a wood mounted $1 stamp that had a candle on it along with the words. Into the microwave the stamp went and off came the rubber. I cut between the candle and the words and it is now 2 unmounted stamps! A little Tack It Over And Over glue on the back and now I can use it as one stamp or I can use it separately.  Do you ever cut your stamps up?

Challenge

The challenge this week at my Card Camp Yahoo Group is to make a card with three different shapes on it. This is my card for the challenge.

I cut and embossed a long rectangle, circle and lacy square from Spellbinders and a butterfly from a Martha Stewart punch and inked the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink. From the DP I used the next smallest circle die and  a Parisian Accents die. A few half pearls and the card was done!

It's nearly Fall....somewhere!

Although it is not anywhere close to Fall here in South Texas I thought I would do a fall card with a technique I haven't done in a while..... 3D decoupage.

Fall colors are my least favorite so I am not really happy with this card. I do hope you get some inspiration from it though!

Birthday in white

There was no plan when I started to make this card except that I wanted to use some of the flowers I bought from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I used a Martha Stewart punch on the bottom of the card and on the flap. I fitted a corner of a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder into the triangle and then used a scoreboard to make lines between the dots and the edge. A Spellbinder labels 13, a stamp from Just Rite and a Marianne Designs Createables Frames and Swirls LR0116 finishes it off.

Ribbon!

As those of you who follow my blog have probably noticed that I very rarely use ribbon on a card. Mostly because I never seem to have the right color even though I do have a fair amount of ribbon. So I am very proud of myself for using ribbon today! This card was inspired by a card in a gallery I saw on Splitcoast Stampers.

I used a Fleur de lis die combined with Labels 13. After cutting and embossing the smaller label I then used a small Cuttlebug embossing folder for the center sentiment and used the little cut out bits from the die and half pearls. Don't throw away those little bits from the dies they can be used in all kinds of ways!

Just Because......

The image I used on this card is a digi, Faith, from Sugar Nellie. I colored her with pencils and them cut her out with Spellbinders Shapeabilities Contemporary Hearts die. The sentiment is a $1 stamp with Spellbinders Fancy Tags.

Cut it out in circles

I used the same die for this card as the cut it out card but this time I used circle apertures.

The butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch and for the center of the flowers and butterfly bodies I used tiny hole-less beads. You can find the beads HERE

Cut it out

This card started out as an experiment. The flower die is from a Marianne Designs set Flowers and Leaves LR0156 that I hadn't used before. I also had a  very old die from Cuttlebug that I had never used that they don't even make any more! I combined the two and came up with this card.

I first laid out the three flowers to see how they would line up and what size I would need to make the aperture. I needed the aperture to be 5.25" x 1.75" on a 4" x 6" card.  If I did it again I would move the aperture up a bit but it is what it is at this point! LOL  I glued the three flowers together before gluing them in the aperture and then glued on the die. To finish the card off I scored lines above and below the aperture and used blue crystals in the center of the flowers and tiny ones for the dots over the i's.

Little Elf Mim

This is the last card in the Little Elf series.

I have had so much fun with these delightful elves! Mo has lots of delightful holiday images. Hop on over and take a peek!

Little Elf Kin

This is the third card in the Little Elf series made with digis from Mo's Digital Pencil.

Nothing much to explain about this card except that I used a different kind of glitter on the 'fur' parts. It is a glitter I found in a drawer that I have had for goodness knows how long....many, many, years! It is a fine glass glitter and it looks lovely but doesn't show up well in the picture.

Little Elf Pippa

This is the second of the little elf cards made with digis from Mo's Digital Pencil.

These are so cute and so much fun to color!

Little Elf Finn

I recently purchased some Christmas digis from Mo's Digital Pencil to get a head start on holiday cards. This is the first card.

The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils and the sentiment is a $1 stamp that I bought last year at Michael's. I really need to look through my holiday stamps as I tend to buy them after the holidays when they are on sale to keep for the next year. The trouble is I forget what I have!

Star Angel

This is another digital stamp that I had already colored and not used.It is another from Crafts and Me.

After cutting the half circle I used a star punch to punch around the curved edge. I colored the punch-outs with a yellow marker and glued them on.

A friend has said that she is gong to update her blog every day during September. So that she doesn't feel alone I am going to try and match her! You can take a peek at her lovely blog HERE

Angel in green

I found this image amongst the stuff on my desk that I had put aside. It was already colored and cut out so I decided to make a simple card with it.

A Martha Stewart punch and Spellbinders Labels 1 made short work of making the card. The digital stamp is from Crafts And Me. It is colored with Prismacolor pencils and Turpenoid.

Exploding box

I thought I would do something a little different from a card so I made this exploding box.

This box is small, 2.75" x 2.75". I don't know what I am going to do with it that is why the inside panels are blank. It was fun to do. I used flowers from Wild Orchid, Martha Stewart punches and dies from Marianne Designs.
